You have demonstrated that you are a reflective practitioner and prioritize the needs of your students first and are committed to supporting programming and initiatives aligned to our organizations goal to educate the whole child. We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:
* Dedicated to working in communities that have historically been underserved and under-resourced
* Committed to thoughtfully engaging in identity work necessary to take a culturally responsive approach to pedagogy and relationship-building with students and colleagues
* Exceptional level of patience and focus to overcome challenges, and achieve results
* Exceptional communication skills to share engage community partners, families and various community stakeholders in information sessions, partnerships meetings and other activities
* Detail-oriented, and highly organized
* Bachelors Degree preferred
WHAT YOULL DO
The Student Recruitment Associate is a critical member of the network Student Recruitment Team, who will partner with the team on planning and coordinating network driven initiatives that will build awareness about our schools and impact, in hopes of gaining new interest. This is a service-oriented teammate who will communicate and share information with various constituents, attend and inform families at recruitment events, manage network driven communicate to prospective families, engage and develop community partnerships, execute administrative functions, and manage our social media presence. Additionally, youll be expected to manage the following responsibilities:
Student Recruitment, Enrollment & Retention
* Manage and facilitate community canvassing initiatives in support of all 8 Explore Schools campuses
* Support communications and systems updates related to new family engagement
* Conduct waitlist calls and update our student enrollment systems across schools and create waitlist and enrollment forms
* Run student recruitment enrollment events and support with all logistical and purchasing needs
* Community Partnerships
* Provide support with facilitating community events at schools and for the network
* Engage in efforts to build relationships with external partners and community-based organizations located in proximity to our schools.
Family Engagement & Student Services
* Provide administrative coordination for temporary staff, immunizations, vision screening, school nurse placement, Transportation/Office of Pupil Transportation Services, and School Foods
* Assist with collecting and curating family resources and support for schools
* Reporting and Other Administrative Support
* Manage and support with online data and communications platforms such as PowerSchool, ParentSquare, and SchoolMint
* Assist with management of student recruitment, student retention and other data collected through PowerSchool E-Collect.
* Provide on-site school and event coverage, as needed
* Support with student recruitment and enrollment management through SchoolMint
* Actively engage in identity work and necessary conversations in order to dismantle white supremacy culture

LOCATION AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Explore Schools is a network of 8 charter schools located in Canarsie, Crown Heights, and Flatbush communities of Brooklyn, NY. Our network office is located in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Our schools are currently operating fully in-person. For this position:
* Some in-person work is required.
* This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime.
* The standard workweek is 45 hours, though at times you may work more. For non-exempt roles, employees are eligible for overtime for any work over 40 hours.
* As this role requires being able to go into our school buildings, which are co-located in DOE buildings, all staff members are required to follow the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. Please reach out to if you'd like to see a copy of the mandate.
* Depending on the time of year, some roles would require traveling to different school sites or our central office for training, observations, and in-service days.
