Job description

Our creative solutions company in Manhattan specializes in end-to-end architectural, construction & hardware solutions for big-name clients.

This is a Design Engineer opportunity for an AutoCAD savvy drafter with experience in the architecture, retail, construction, residential, or similar space.

This role will be designing custom architectural glass and metal solutions such as glass office walls, storefronts, etc. You'll be working with passionate architects, designers and contractors to ensure timely deliverables. Join us to work on exciting, large-scale jobs and grow your career!

What You Will Be Doing

The primary goal of this position is to design and visualize architectural solutions that meet design intents and create a clear solution that can be specified by architects. You will Design, draft and visual opportunity solutions as directed by Director of Pre-Construction and the sales team. As well as prepare opportunity-specific sketches and presentations for proposals.

• Designing and engineering custom architectural solutions our products as the starting point
• Produce opportunity-specific presentations that show solutions meet design intent and budget
• Work directly with clients to understand design challenges and needs
• Work with sales team to understand scope and needs of each opportunity
• Must have a strong command drafting and visualization of architectural systems and solutions that represent us as a design-forward company
• Must strategize the most appropriate type of visualization to communicate the solution in an efficient but appropriate way
• Must design solutions that accommodate budgets and understand a range of solutions that contribute to value engineering an opportunity.
  

What You Need for this Position

• Must be able to communicate with team members and speak intelligently about designs, architectural systems and describe/collaborate architectural solutions.
• Must be able to interact with customers and interpret design needs.
• Intermediate / advanced industry knowledge of construction-based and architectural solutions and designs.
• Must have experience with shop drawing creation, fabrication drawings - Experience in Glass & Metal work is a huge plus!
• Advanced knowledge and experience in 2D and 3D drafting and visualization.
• Advanced skills in AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Intermediate knowledge of Bluebeam editing and mark ups.
• Intermediate skills of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and InDesign).
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite
