Bioprocess Application Specialist

This newly created position is needed to support the dynamic growth of our single use bioprocess business segment, a new strategic market for our company. The incumbent in this key role will be a subject matter expert and trusted business partner to our Customers and Sales team in the bioprocess arena.
The Bioprocess Application Specialist is responsible to provide technical pre- and post-sales support to customers and sales representatives for the selection of single use products for bioprocess. Additionally, this position is responsible to support the VP of BD & New Markets in the development and execution of the bioprocess product, service, and documentation strategy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support customers and the sales team with technical aspects of the sales process by phone, email, face to face, and video meetings
- Translate customer requirements to product specifications and recommendations
- Accountable for the customer experience with the product (e.g. advice on applications)
- Project planning and execution for implementation of new product lines, services, and documentation initiatives
- Act as subject matter expert for the products and applications
- Plan and execute technical training for internal and external customers
- Participate / attend / present at industry conferences and exhibitions
- Participate in external organization activities
- Identify new opportunities for products & services from industry trends and customer interaction
Tasks may include:
- Project management and Initiation of new product enrollment
- Evaluation of new products and specification development
- Researching customer requirements and regulatory requirements
- Working closely with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Quality and Operations to move sales opportunities, product, and service projects forward
- Interfacing with potential suppliers
- 10-25% travel to trade shows, conferences, customers, and suppliers
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5+ Years' experience in a technical role in life sciences preferred
- BA/BS degree in a technical discipline, preferably chemical, biotechnology or mechanical engineering or biological sciences. Advanced degree a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, regulatory documents, and standards.
- Experience in single use technology, bioprocessing, regulated industry, GMP experience a plus.
- Confidence in own abilities and willingness to take on new complex topics
- Willingness to travel as needed to support the goals of the position
- Keen intellectual curiosity / desire to learn new things
- Excellent business acumen & entrepreneurial spirit
