Job description

The City of Cleveland, OH (population 381,009), is the 18th largest city in the United States, home to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum and four professional sports teams. The city is seeking information technology professionals as candidates for its IT Program Manager for Financial Systems position.

The City of Cleveland is currently searching for an IT Program Manager to join an elite team of IT professionals dedicated to serving as the owner, champion, and advocate for all business applications and technology support for the City of Cleveland Department of Taxation.

The IT Program Manager for Financial Systems will focus on the success of the Department's business systems and applications in the areas of:

  • Identifying, implementing, and updating and enhancing taxation business systems and technology
  • Partnering with stakeholders to gather and prioritize technology requests
  • Managing and executing the IT roadmap for critical business applications and technology
  • Identifying and managing the priorities of support and SLAs for projects
  • Managing IT Operational Staff dedicated to taxation

Ideal candidates will be successful in meeting the below minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
  • Project Management Certification and knowledge of MS Project

o Substitution: Two additional years of college education may substitute for certification in project management

  • Minimum of five (5) years of full-time paid experience in the area of IT project management
  • Strong project management skills in coordinating, leading, and implementing technology projects, system of administration of financial software strongly preferred

This is a full time/40 hours per week direct hire position with the City of Cleveland.
