Dental Front Desk Specialist - full time

Centerpoint Health is a (FQHC) community health center located in Franklin and Middletown, Ohio. We have an opening for a Dental Front Desk Specialist, bilingual in Spanish preferred, at the Franklin, Ohio location.

You must be personable, detail oriented, organized, computer literate and have great track record for attendance. Completes day-to-day administrative tasks such as greeting patients, answering phones, assisting patients with paperwork completion, directing phone call requests to appropriate department. Provides patient checkout process and is cross-trained to assist with back-office functions. Notifies staff of patient check-in to enable efficient patient flow. Medicaid experience is helpful in this role.

EXPERIENCE Preferred:

Experience with dental insurance benefits, eligibility, and breakdowns. Experience with dental treatment plan presentation and should know basic dental anatomy.

Experience of dental schedule coordination for ideal day scheduling, ability to assign services appropriately for dental providers.

Job Duties:

Appropriate dental scheduling, verification of dental insurance, and scheduling appropriate to dental insurance benefits are primary responsibilities of this position.

· Serve as the preliminary "greeter" and contact for both callers, patients and walk-ins.

· Completes daily front office functions, answers phones, check-in patients, and processes confirmation of income, benefits and insurance.

· Collect, enter and track patient data within the electronic record.

· Record and update contact information, collection of payment, assist with referral services to other services.

· Record and reschedule appointments as directed.

· Complete follow-up and reminder calls for appointments, sometimes in Spanish.

· Operate office machines and manage phone lines, mail, faxes, and email.

· Record requests for records, labs and imaging with follow up communication.

· Process prescription refills; conduct prior authorizations and pre-certifications.

· Communicate with staff, admin, and patients to address individual needs.

· Data entry using EMR and assist with documentation as necessary.

· File, clerical duties, special projects, and other front office functions as assigned by supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:

· Ability to communicate with an exceptional customer service mindset.

· Ability to understand and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards assisting Centerpoint Health in ensuring continuous compliance. HIPPA compliant.

· Ability to transcribe, collect, enter and track patient data using a computer.

· Ability to manipulate detailed pieces of data with accuracy and focus.

· Work well under pressure and be flexible to help where needed.

· Ability to handle patients with special needs, as well as accessing language lines.

· Skill set for basic math.

· Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office. EMR experience preferred.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative supporting role preferably in a Dental health care setting.
