Job description

As a business analyst VP, you're directly responsible for the delivery of features and capabilities of the Account Opening and Activation, as prioritized by the product team, triad and cabinet into production, and in accordance with predicted timelines in order to meet customer expectations.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Research and analysis of existing capabilities in order to appropriately leverage or supplement them with new requirements.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
  • Establish understanding of customer needs in order to adequately define and prioritize requirements.
  • Partner to ensure requirements meet legal, control and risk standards
  • Collaborate with DCE partners to ideate on user experience, create conversational flow diagrams and user interface specifications
  • Componentize initiatives into executable Epics that will deliver business value to a customer within one release
  • Define and write Stories for collaboration with tech partners that will deliver against requirements within one sprint.

Drive timely delivery of owning initiatives through the following:
  • Collaboration and awareness of established target dates for customer readiness of initiative
  • Ensure refinement of Epics and Stories are completed timely in order to meet sprint goals and release goals.
  • Participate in technical desk checks with software developer and QA partners in order to iterate on requirements and acceptance criteria, leading to defect mitigation and efficiency of requirements delivery.
  • Direct UAT partners on testing goals and timelines in accordance with release timelines.
  • Be accountable for defect resolution through prioritization and defining criticality using analytic metrics and severity guidelines, ensuring timely resolution or risk acceptance while mitigating customer impact.
  • Manage requirements associated to customer rollout approach of new capabilities.

Own the customer experience of implemented features and capabilities:
  • Ensure feature/capability is properly validated at time of release
  • Participate in monthly control checks ensuring continued feature/capability accuracy either through automation or manual checks
  • Escalate and prioritize any production defects in accordance with the level of severity and criticality of the defect, including participation and oversight of production triage, mitigation and remediation.

Participate in the Agile scrum events in order to achieve the above:
  • Daily Standup with Scrum Team
  • Desk Check Review
  • PO Sign-offs
  • Defect Review sessions
  • Backlog refinement / Epic refinement sessions / Story refinement sessions
  • Sprint Reviews
  • Sprint Retrospectives

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of business analyst or relevant experience as well as record of individual technical achievement
  • Experience with agile product development and software delivery lifecycle
  • Expertise in business requirements writing and communication
  • Experience with API-based designs, microservices, web services
  • Effective communicator with excellent written communication skills
  • Proven track record of delivery and new product feature creation
  • Ability to prioritize projects and efforts according to business need and industry trends
  • Familiarity with the business services and offerings associated with Chase
  • Ability to influence people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tight delivery timelines and calmness under pressure
  • Commitment and self-motivation suitable to a start-up team
  • BA or BS in applicable field of study
