The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing Human Resources support to NovaCare Rehabilitation/Select Physical Therapy to achieve its Long Term Vision and Strategic Initiatives, as well as meet the needs of the day-to-day operations

Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all established Company Policies and Procedures.

Provides consultative human resources support for the Outpatient Division with emphasis on employee performance, engagement and required disciplinary issues.

Understands and interprets established Human Resources Policy and Procedures for managers, employees and the human resources team.

Serves as the primary point of contact for the field leaders and Human Resources Coordinators for first level employee relations. First level employee relations includes: reviewing written documentation and coaching managers on how to effectively communicate expectations, provide employee performance feedback and administer the progressive disciplinary process consistently and fairly.

Assists the Human Resources Director in resolving second level employee relations issues. Second level employee relations includes: suspensions, investigations, and terminations.

Investigates and resolves employee complaints, disputes and concerns with Human Resources Director involvement and oversight. Conducts or assists with preliminary investigations. Gathers all relevant data from all parties involved. Documents all related issues and maintains appropriate records.

Participates in the development and delivery of management training to field managers. Overnight travel, up to 25%, is required.

Supervises transactional duties of the Human Resources Coordinator team, ensuring quality, accuracy, and the highest level of customer service.

Coordinates with the corporate office staff and Human Resources Coordinator team on employment, benefits, payroll, payroll tax, workers compensation, compensation, employee relations and organizational effectiveness.

Provides employee education and training to the Human Resources Coordinators to support their professional growth and development.

Assists with acquisition process, including initial contact with newly acquired staff, review of benefits information, and travel to assist with onboarding

Recommends and oversees continuous process improvement, internal controls, and compliance.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field

Three (3) to Five (5) years of applicable human resources experience, including employee relations, training and management.

One (1) year of experience in employee relations.

Ability to make sound judgments and decisions.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with mature judgment and integrity at all times.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS database.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to manage complex and multiple tasks.

Preferred:

Prior experience in a healthcare organization is preferred with exposure to benefit administration and payroll administration.

Prior experience in a multi-state organization with exposure to related State law preferred
