Job description

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently looking to hire **Mass Spectrometry Analyst** for a long-term engagement at one of our Global Pharma customers in West Point, PA.

**Job Description**


The qualified candidate will be responsible for mass spectrometry workflow development, optimization, and implementation in support of biologics and vaccines process understanding throughout the full product life cycle.


Specific job responsibilities to include experiment setup, execution, data analysis, and reporting as required to support the enhanced process understanding of biologic and vaccine products using mass spectrometry characterization techniques.


**Job Function**


Perform LC/MS analysis of biologics and vaccines to support process understanding and product development studies.


Partner with scientists in upstream cell culture/fermentation, purification, and drug product operations areas to optimize the use of LC/MS methods to support process and product development.


Conduct experimental studies to develop rapid characterization assays within a process analytical technology (PAT) framework.


Maintain LC/MS and protein sample preparation instrumentation according to applicable GMP guidelines and SOP's.


Conduct review of laboratory data and communicate results to analytical and process development partner groups.


**Required Experience and Skills:**


Self-motivated individual who can prioritize project activities as project landscape evolves.


Ability to function well in cross-functional team environment.


Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.


Experience in biologics sample preparation for mass spectrometry analysis, including enzymatic protein digestion and sample clean-up.


**Preferred Experience/Skills:**


Experience in protein LC/MS analysis workflows, including PTMs/glycosylation, intact and subunit mass analysis, and strong background in separations science


Expertise with innovative biologics assay technologies including rapid methods for generating mass spectrometry results


Technical proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of analytical instrumentation including chromatography and mass spectrometry systems (Thermo Exactive Orbitrap series, Sciex triple quad, Waters time of flight instrumentation).


Familiarity with protein MS data analysis software such as BioPharma Finder, Chromeleon, and Genedata Expressionist


Working knowledge of cGMP's


B.S. degree in biological or chemical science and/or engineering


0-3 years relevant industry experience with a M.S./Ph.D. or a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience
