Job description

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Physical Testing Technician position for a specialty chemical company in Houston, TX. The overall responsibility of this role is to perform routine and non-routine testing of plastics, polymers, composites, and wood products in a research and development environment for quality and product development purposes.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Handling small plastic specimens, power tools, and heavy loads while performing routine testing in the laboratory utilizing multiple test methods and multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Upkeep and routine maintenance and repairs of all the equipment.
  • General laboratory maintenance to ensure that the laboratory is in full compliance with all safety, environmental, and health regulations and procedures.
  • Extensive computer usage to routinely perform data gathering, data charting, limited data analysis, data recording, and data transmittal to customers.
  • Work well in a team environment and maintain close, cooperative relationships with fellow technicians.

Job Requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree in Chemical Technology or related Science
  • 1+ years of plastics testing experience in an industrial laboratory such as tensile or other load frame testing
  • Experience working with various types of power tools, particularly saws
  • Computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office products

This is a long term contract assignment, Monday through Friday, day shift position, with pay commensurate upon level of education and experience. If you feel you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for consideration.
