Job description

The VP of Human Resources leads all aspects of the Human Resources function. This strategic leader is responsible for developing and overseeing organization-wide programs for workforce planning, compensation, benefits, employee relations, talent management, employee engagement and culture initiatives. This position serves as a member of senior management and is responsible for aligning appropriate human capital strategies and policies with business goals. The VP HR acts as the Board liaison for the Compensation Committee, and partners closely and collaboratively with all functional areas of the organization. We are looking for an experienced HR leader who is outstanding at relationship and team building, and an analytical thinker with fantastic problem solving and conflict management skills.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience with employee relations, talent acquisition and performance management, payroll processes, employment law compliance, compensation, and learning and development. The VP will be skilled in managing a team of HR professionals and effective at creating and introducing processes and technology solutions in order to streamline and strengthen the HR function. This position is additionally responsible for developing and accelerating the bank's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program, and directing the Facilities/Administrative Services functions.

What You Bring to the Team:

This position requires a bachelor's degree (masters preferred) in business or Human Resource management or equivalent plus fifteen (15) years of relevant and progressive work experience, including experience developing high functioning teams and leaders. PHR or SPHR certification are desired but not required. Proven experience developing and implementing diversity and inclusion programs is strongly preferred.

This position requires a thorough mastery of the body of knowledge of Human Resources, with knowledge and skills involving organizing and planning and budgeting for the work activities related to benefits, recruiting, training, diversity programs, payroll administration, employee relations, HR administration, and employee activities. Individual must have demonstrated leadership experience in building, mentoring a team of HR professionals to execute on a comprehensive strategic HR program in alignment with the bank's mission and goals.

This individual must be able to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues and maintain high ethical standards. Must be capable of engaging within the organization throughout all lines and levels of the business to establish respect and credibility. Must possess excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills. Insightful knowledge of counseling abilities is also required. Ability to interact professionally with executive management and the board of directors is essential. Must be able to travel.
