Overview:

General Motors Financial is looking for an experienced insurance finance lead to support the Protection Products team. The team is responsible for bringing the branded General Motors F&I products to market. We offer Vehicle Service Contracts, Gap Coverage, Pre-Paid Maintenance Plans, and other F&I products to our dealers. We work hands on with our dealer partners to improve performance in their F&I department. The VP, Insurance Finance will oversee all aspects of the financial operations of the Protection Products business during and after our transformation, including financial planning, pricing support, accounting and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities:

JOB DUTIES

Support the business in developing a plan to maximize profit of the business unit, including per product profit, volume mix and management of operating expenses
Analyze monthly/quarterly/yearly financial results and communicate important trends and measurements to senior leadership
Support central accounting team in preparation of GAAP and state regulatory reports, including sign off of audited financial statements required for insurance entities
Lead pricing and actuary team to establish loss cost estimates for pricing and reserving
Oversee pricing models to ensure consistency with actuals and forecasts
Review profitability of current and proposed dealer relationships to ensure adequate risk and return
Participate in the oversight and management of third party administrator
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Knowledge

Must have experience in all areas of forecasting, accounting and reserving for insurance and reinsurance business
Must be innovative at analyzing issues using sound judgment and thinking strategically
Must be motivating leader, showing work commitment and drive results

Skills

Proven skills in spreadsheet modeling and the ability to operate in the banking/corporate environment
Superior oral and written communication skills
Ability to work well with all levels of management
Ability to use good judgment in making independent decisions
Must be deadline oriented

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
Master's Degree MBA or Finance preferred

Experience

5-10 years managing people and/or leadership experience required
5 -10 years analytics and/or pricing experience required
3-5 years insurance reporting preferred

Licenses

CPA preferred
