Industrial Survey Analyst - Houston

Our Industrial Survey Analyst position will contribute to best-in-class client materials that differentiate JLL and help build and maintain a competitive advantage in the marketplace through market expertise, analysis and insight. The Survey Analyst will have primary responsibility for producing in-depth survey reports for the Houston and surrounding industrial markets and leveraging that production proactively for broker projects, client requests and business development efforts. You will work closely with JLL brokerage professionals and clients throughout the Houston region. Additionally, this position will support survey work in the Houston office market as needed.

Overall objectives

* Provide targeted market survey support to brokerage professionals and their clients
* Continually develop, enhance and leverage detailed knowledge of the local commercial real estate market for use in client surveys and market overviews
* Develop strong relationships with internal and external brokerage and real estate professionals
* Expand the platform to include new workflow processes and proprietary technology related to surveys (MarketSphere, Blackbird, etc.) and the design and implementation of data gathering and reporting tools
* Understand and manage key resources and local market trends

Specific responsibilities

* Respond promptly to all client and broker requests for data and information on industrial space in the Houston market using CoStar, LoopNet, primary research and other resources
* Create and edit survey reports for the areas that encompass Houston real estate markets, often with accelerated timelines
* Utilize the data acquired in day-to-day survey requests to actively track and maintain detailed market data including lease and sales comparables, development pipelines and tenants in the market
* Collaborate with other research staff in the production of reports using gathered data
* Focus on superior customer service and being the 'face' of the Research and Survey team by providing positive interactions regardless of workload or timing concerns
* Contribute to research efforts for presentations and other ad hoc duties as requested
* Balance and prioritize requests using internal work management log

Experience and qualifications

* Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent years of professional experience desired, in business, real estate or related field
* A dedication to learning local real estate markets required
* Basic understanding of commercial real estate desired
* Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills and ability to process large quantities of data
* Ability to meet broker and client expectations effectively and professionally
* Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and effectively manage time and workload
* Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Proficiency with the following software programs: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth and CoStar
* Ability to learn and gain proficiency quickly with other software such as Adobe Creative Suite and internal software like Blackbird and MarketSphere
* Motivated and self-starting with a desire to succeed and contribute to the success of a team
* A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative and driven professional environment
