Job description

Environmental Allies is looking for a skilled Scraper Operator to join our growing Civil team in Houston, TX. The Scraper Operator will be moving dirt around and performing Stormwater management actives. They should also be able to drive and operate other heavy equipment such as Excavators, Bulldozers, Skid Steers, Front End Loaders, and trucks used in civil construction.

This individual is responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks as it relates to stormwater maintenance and drainage systems such as: stormwater channels, detention ponds, and storm drainage management systems and light street repairs as it relates to moving dirt around.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Operate a Scraper Tractor

· Move dirt from Point A to Point B

· Working on stormwater channels, detention ponds, and storm drainage systems

· Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures

· Load/unload equipment and material from vehicles and trailers

· Proactively communicate with superintendent and coworkers in regard to worksite locations and job details

· Able to verify details of work orders to ensure accuracy of work preformed

· Identify, report, and correct hazards

· Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner

Qualifications / Competencies

· Must have 5 years of experience operating: Scraper Tractor along with Excavator, Skid Steer, Bulldozer, and Front-End Loader

· Must have 5 years of experience with stormwater activities and underground utilities

· Ability to work with crews

· Ability to lift 50 lbs.

· Bilingual (preferred)

· Must be able to pass background and drug screen

· Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and clear driving record

· Must be authorized to work in the United States

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

· Substantial movements (motion) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.

· Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.

· Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

· Must be able to climb ladders

· The ability to work in hot environments/extreme weather.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Scraping: 2 years (Required)
• Stormwater and Earthwork: 5 years (Required)
