Our Audience Solutions team is responsible for partnering with organizations to create campaigns that will resonate with our audience. We are seeking a Business Development Manager with a passion for storytelling and advocacy to join us as part of our Associations and Advocacy team, focused on building relationships with associations and coalitions with federal policy agendas.

You will leverage a deep understanding of POLITICO's audience to provide thoughtful, creative and consequential opportunities for advocacy organizations to engage with our policymaker audience. You must be entrepreneurial in spirit with the ability to craft insightful solutions as we problem solve for our clients. You are someone who has a firm understanding of the public affairs ecosystem and advertising market trends.

What You'll Do:

• Maintain and grow existing client and agency relationships


• Prospect new clients and win new business


• Develop custom partnerships and strategies for associations to advance their advocacy agendas


• Respond to RFPs with creative solutions


• Collaborate with colleagues to understand full 360 landscape of a client's federal, states, and individual corporate member needs and address holistically.


• Execute campaigns and analyze performance with the assistance of your dedicated Account Manager


• Continue to embody the successful brand presence of POLITICO in the market

What You'll Need:

• BA/BS degree required


• 1-2 years sales experience, or 2-3 years media planning experience


• Passionate about digital media and media planning. Bonus points if you are passionate about politics and policy.


• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills


• Strong work ethic, professionalism and enthusiasm


• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills, bonus points if you have experience with programs such as Salesforce or Google DoubleClick


• Ability to work well under pressure
