Job description

F.H Furr is a residential plumbing, HVAC, and electrical contractor that services Northern Virginia, the neighboring counties in Maryland, and Washington D.C. We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team and work out of our headquarters located in Manassas, VA. At F.H. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Responsible for all aspects related to the hiring of employees (i.e., advertisements, job postings, recruiting, interviewing, processing transfers, orientation etc.)
* Responsible for all internal associate transactions & processes (i.e., promotion, transfer, performance review, termination etc.)
* Employee relations; resolves issues as they arise
* Conduct all benefit orientations and 401K enrollment meetings
* Ensure all employee evaluations are completed in an accurate and timely manner
* Ensure compliance with all applicable employment practices and procedures
* Investigate and manage worker's compensation claims
* Represent the HR department in a professional and respectful manner and maintain an open-door policy.
* Ensure employee compliance with HR policies and procedures
* Update and submit required reports in a timely manner
* Participate in and monitor orientation and training programs
* Ensure managers are using positive coaching, counseling, and discipline to address issues/concerns
* Prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports, including responsibility for maintaining personnel records
* Organize and work independently on multiple assigned tasks/projects and complete assignments within specified deadlines
* Develop and monitor recruitment resources
* Demonstrate effectiveness in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems, as necessary
* Serve as a key point of contact for employees and as a "switchboard" to direct them to the resources they need and eliminate redundancy
* Develop/improve upon our existing policies to ensure the safety, welfare, and wellness of our employees, and communicate those policies to our employees
* Ensure that our company's HR policies are compliant with regulatory/reporting requirements
* Champion diversity, equality, and inclusion initiatives

Education and Experience Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree
* Minimum of ten years of overall Human Resources leadership experience
* Excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills
* Advanced Microsoft Excel/Office skills; extremely computer proficient
* Confidentiality and discretion are non-negotiables
* Ability to handle a wide variety of assignments including email correspondence, project management and telephone communications
* Occasional travel to interface with staff and attend conferences/training related to the job
