Job description

The Distribution Center Recruiter will serve as the subject-matter expert on sourcing and hiring hourly talent for a distribution center. Help create strategic staffing plans and execute best practices to ensure that the distribution center economically meets its staffing goals.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR Manager and GM to understand hourly needs and priorities.
  • Develop recruitment ideas and strategies specific to the local market for the distribution center.
  • Leverage the staffing playbook and other recruitment tools & practices to source qualified hourly candidates.
  • Manage classified advertising expenses to ensure the DC economically and effectively sources hourly candidates.
  • Create plans and lead their execution to build talent pipelines and execute on tactical research, referral generation, recruiting events and sourcing campaigns.
  • Leverage external resources (databases, social media, local organizations, etc) to source active and passive candidates to fill hourly positions in the DC.
  • Build relationships with local schools and organizations to cultivate applicants, gain a better understanding of the local labor market, and gather intelligence on the competition
  • Lead full life-cycle recruitment- recruit, interview, recommend, and hire best in class talent.
  • Proactively learn the business and culture to enhance all recruitment efforts and identify potential challenges.
  • Extend offers to qualified candidates and advance HR status through ATS. Disposition candidates appropriately
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in prospecting techniques and tools used for identifying hourly talent.
  • Train the DC leadership team on recruitment and interviewing techniques
  • Develop reputation as trusted advisor to your business partners based on market/industry knowledge.
  • Help provide guidance to DC HR on best recruiting practices in the DC's market
  • Contribute ideas and practices to ensure a quality candidate experience.
  • Develop Cost-Per-Hire and Time- to- Fill metrics & goals

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience recruiting hourly light industrial workers, preferably in a high-volume environment
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems
  • Experience with social media tools & methods as well as local venues to seek out talent
  • Proven ability to thrive in a lightning fast roll up your sleeves environment where finding the BEST person for the job is what you're driven to do.
  • Having a reputation for outstanding ability to generate candidates (active & passive)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organizational and time management skills
  • Innate ability to read people, build trust and instill action
  • Strong functional expertise that includes multiple sourcing techniques
  • Experience recruiting in a corporate retail merchandising arena
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities based on changing needs and markets
