Job description
Just-Evotec Biologics is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst, who is looking for a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. As part of the Finance Team, this position will work closely with Corporate Accounting, Business Development, Operations, and Project Management staff to support sales forecasting and properly accounting for revenue. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, detail oriented, and experienced with revenue recognition accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business development, operations, and project managers to update the monthly sales forecast and analyze variances
- Responsible for all revenue related month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations (deferred revenue, accounts receivable)
- Prepare month-end revenue and gross margin reports and provide variance commentary
- Review aged receivables and follow-up with customers for prompt payment
- Support ad-hoc data analysis request from project managers, business operation and finance staff
- Prepare documentation for annual audit where applicable and assist auditors with queries
- Work closely with all Evotec accounting teams to support intercompany reconciliations
- Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
- Due to tight month-end deadlines, you may have to work flexibly during month end
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- +3 years of relevant finance and accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and key accounting principles
- Strong analytical capabilities with intermediate Excel skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Organized, detail oriented, and ability to work with confidential information
- Experience working effectively in a fast-paced, team-based environment
- Previous experience supporting revenue recognition process
- Experience within biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP)
- Experience using Cognos TM1 Planning or similar financial planning tools
- Familiar with working in an international environment
