The Infectious Disease Research Institute (IDRI) is a Seattle-based non-profit research organization committed to developing products to prevent, detect and treat infectious diseases.?IDRI translates basic research to develop vaccines, diagnostics and drugs for applications in global health.?IDRI's leadership in the global health community extends to international alliances and partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, universities, research institutes, governments, and public health organizations.

Summary

The HR Assistant will support the HR Manager in running the department. Duties include payroll auditing, maintaining employee files, answering employee questions, and documentation. Responsibilities

  • Supporting the HR Department by helping to complete special projects.
  • Processing payroll and entering deductions.
  • Assisting HR Manager with recruitment, including posting jobs and vetting candidates.
  • Assisting with new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Supporting internal and external inquiries and requests from employees.
  • Maintaining confidential employee records.
  • Entering employee data into computer database.
  • Performing file audits.
  • Ad hoc reports.
  • Keep up to date on HR best practices and developments in the field.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
  • 2 years' experience as an HR Assistant
  • Understanding of labor laws and employment laws
  • Thorough understanding of payroll processing
  • Outstanding people skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Works well managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Excellent critical thinking
  • Attention to detail
