The Opportunity at Protego Trust Bank, NA (in organization)
This position serves as the main point of contact with Protego's clients regarding high quality trust, custody, and fiduciary management services. The Trust Officer effectively partners with the key account managers and sales directors in executing the client's objectives for successful custody and administration of their digital assets. This will include meeting the applicable legal, tax, and regulatory requirements of each client and their applicable accounts. This position also provides resolution and innovative solutions to meet client needs while mitigating financial, regulatory, and legal risks to Protego.
Objectives and responsibilities
Client Service
- Primary responsibility and lead for trust, custody, and fiduciary management services
- Ensures overall client satisfaction of fiduciary services and supports entire client service team in strategic management of client relationships within the fiduciary management framework
- Lead in meeting fiduciary requirements for trust acceptance and annual review of fiduciary accounts
- Partners with sales, onboarding, risk, and compliance in meeting all BSA/AML requirements
- Partners and coordinates with the client service coverage teams to meet daily client activities, transactions, and requests necessary for the efficient administration of trust accounts
- Communicates with customers regarding outstanding fiduciary and custody requirements; works with key internal stakeholders to resolve problems related to transactions and processing
- Maintains accurate and timely client information, account reconciliation, transaction activity, statistics, and other ad-hoc reports as necessary via internal CRM tools. Collects and organizes data and prepares reports for management, client service or clients
Regulatory
- Mitigate financial, legal and regulatory risk to Protego and their clients
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory, legal, risk, and audit requirements, specifically related to 12 C.F.R. Part 9 and other applicable regulations
- Maintain appropriate legal documentation to ensure regulatory and policy compliance
- Assists Senior Trust Officer with required internal and external regulatory reporting
Sales and Product Support
- Provide subject matter expertise to support sales initiatives and new business prospects.
- Facilitate as subject matter expert to product teams or project management where applicable in partnership with key stakeholders for implementation and success
What you bring to Protego
- 10+ years of successful experience in managing fiduciary relationships with institutional investors, investment managers, or high net worth clients
- 10+ years of strong knowledge in legal, securities, fiduciary regulations, BSA/AML compliance, and trust administration
- 10+ years of experience with exceptional client service
- 5+ years of high exposure to institutional trust, custody, institutional banking, and trust operations
- Ability to work in a fast paced, client deadline driven environment
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure to meet deadlines
- Experience in digital assets
- BS/BA in Business, Accounting, Mathematics or related field
