Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Compensation Minimum:$101,500. Compensation Maximum:$162,500. Summary: Job Family Summary Provides analysis for the full range of actuarial activities related to either insurance pricing or ratemaking for a line of business (LOB), loss reserving, modeling, or reinsurance. Builds models and projections to enable the business to generate consistent and sound prices Builds forecasts and models for incurred losses and loss adjustment expense (LAE), CAT and investment risks, and reinsurance for the annual Profit & Growth plan. Most roles require actuarial background and/or pursuing the accredited Actuarial designation. Job Summary A credentialed Actuary that contributes to the development and significant revisions to ratemaking methodologies, loss and LAE forecast models. Develops and implements statistical models and conducts other advanced actuarial analysis. Job Description: Job Level Summary: Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Leads others to solve complex problems. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead functional teams or projects. Primary Accountabilities: Contributes to recommendations and significant revisions to ratemaking methodologies. Contributes to rate indication development. Facilitate the rate review process and contributes to the pricing committee meetings to support the pricing strategy. Develops relationship with core business partners and provide insights and solutions to address specific business concerns. Explores new concepts statistical models, and data sources to deliver innovative solutions for the business. Assist with the development of pricing for new products and rating structures. Represents Pricing on various data efforts including dataset development and consultation on data and analytical development. Assist with development of classification ratemaking methodologies and models. Monitors industry and competitor trends to determine potential impact to Actuarial strategies and solutions. Travel Requirements: This position requires travel up to 5% of the time. Education & Licenses: Must have obtained the Associate designation. Bachelor's Degree in Math, Actuarial Science, Statistics or other related quantitative discipline or equivalent experience / education. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements: Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service. Demonstrated experience communicating complex data to multiple business partners. Extensive knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines and concepts and the impact to rates. Extensive knowledge and understanding of property and casualty products, pricing, rates and industry trends. Extensive knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience performing statistical/actuarial analysis and data forecasting and modeling techniques: Additional Job Information: We are open to hiring candidates to work remotely (anywhere in the USA). Preference will be given to candidates with: Prior auto rate proposal and filing experience. Strong technical/programming skills (Python, SQL, Visual Basic, etc.). Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multiple priorities and projects with stakeholders across multiple departments. Demonstrated experience mentoring or training new or more junior staff. Demonstrated experience in communicating technical work to non-technical audiences.
