About the team

Within PwC's London Audit Stakeholder Assurance practice, you'll have the opportunity to work with a market leading team and across a diverse portfolio of clients, from owner managed businesses, private equity backed companies, up to large multinational and listed groups.

We work with well known clients across a broad range of industries including entertainment and media, pharmaceuticals, technology and communications, energy, utilities and mining, retail, hospitality and leisure, business services, construction and real estate.

We also work across the third sector, spanning a number of government and public sector clients and charities. You'll also have the opportunity to work on global projects, collaborating with PwC colleagues and clients all over the world.

About the role

In Stakeholder Assurance we help our clients to build trust and confidence in their key non-financial information and/or the internal controls environment that supports the provision of key services, whether for internal or external use.

We typically provide assurance services in these areas:

  • Non-financial processes and data, including governance, operational business management indicators, Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) indicators and price indices;

  • Third party controls reporting, covering a broad range of sectors, including IT and business process outsourcing services.

In joining us you will be part of a unique client proposition, assisting our clients build trust in their systems, processes, controls and data and providing transparency to their stakeholders (such as investors, customers, regulators, trade bodies and civil society to name a few) in the form of independent reporting and assurance.

This Senior Associate role will see you working on a variety of challenging, career-advancing non-audit assurance assignments. You'll be constantly learning, and your ideas will be welcomed in an atmosphere of innovation, collaboration and teamwork.

You will be required to deliver complex engagements and will work with senior staff supporting them with the on-going development of PwC's profile in the market place, along with building trusted relationships with clients. In your role you will work closely with management throughout the business, while yourself being responsible for delivering the highest quality work, working closely with our clients in providing an excellent service to them and coaching junior colleagues, often on a number of concurrent engagements.

Essential skills and experience
  • Assurance experience, including evaluating controls over financial and operational (non-financial) processes.

  • Understanding of some key non-financial assurance reporting and assurance standards and frameworks e.g. ISAE 3000, ISAE 3410, ISAE 3402, SOC 1 and SOC 2.

  • Strong project management skills and a demonstrable experience of working on multiple engagements and managing your time effectively.

  • A key focus on delivering high quality work to tight deadlines.

  • Strong business awareness, sound reporting skills and the ability to work under your own initiative.

  • The ability to apply independent judgement during engagements and to support conclusions reached by management.

  • The ability to coach junior team members.

  • Exceptional client relationship and communication skills.

  • A willingness to learn new skills and help develop and innovate new client propositions.

Who we're looking for

As a credible candidate you will have a demonstrable track record of performing high quality work, exhibiting attention to detail, critical thinking and a strong ability to work with clients who potentially span all functions within client organisations across a number of different industries. The candidate will build experience in complex non-audit assurance engagements against standards such as ISAE3000, ISAE3402, SSAE18. Prior experience with these standards is not critical but is a plus.

Our people are expected to be capable of applying their core skills in a variety of business situations to maximise the client value and impact. Strong project management skills are essential to be able to deliver multiple projects simultaneously and the ability to coach junior team members.
