Responsibilities:
Responsible for performing all aspects of accounting and recordkeeping for the most complex mutual fund or other investment account(s). Analyzes data and researches and resolves problems that may be complex in nature, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. Controls and balances accounts and output, posts accounting entries to ledger, and verifies investment data in a timely and accurate manner. Supports and reviews the work produced by lower level staff.
- Performs calculations for assigned group of funds/accounts, which includes cash projections, reconciliation of trade activity and corporate actions, reconciliation of holdings, and review/analysis of income and expenses.
- Analyzes fund/account data to identify potential problems and develops appropriate solutions.
- Alerts management, as required, of any problems that exist on statements, including duplicate trades, incorrect trades, and discrepancies in amounts associated with accounting activity.
- Verifies work performed by staff level accountants as needed.
- Preparation of reports provided to internal and external customers, including maintenance of supporting documentation.
- Ensures that required records are maintained and stored according to appropriate retention policy in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assists in development of policies and procedures for work performed.
- Assists in development of staff and provides performance feedback to supervisor.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Two years mutual fund and/or accounting experience required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Intermediate knowledge of the mutual funds industry
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work and make decisions independently
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, fund accounting systems
Compensation and Benefits:
- The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000, commensurate with experience, qualification, and performance. Compensation can also vary based on other factors, such as cost of living.
- This position is eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus
