Job description
HBI is currently seeking a Marketing Manager in its National Office in Washington, DC.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Under the direction of the AVP of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing & Communications Manager supports HBI's marketing and communications strategies by implementing plans that advance HBI's services and programs. Responsibilities include promotional, communications and administrative activities, with a focus on print and digital media, content creation, and overall project management. Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to create compelling stories and narratives that help build awareness for the organization and amplify the HBI brand.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Develop and implement integrated marketing and communications plans, campaigns, and programs to support business growth objectives and priorities
- Ensure consistent visual and verbal branding across all marketing and public relations channels
- Research, create and disseminate content and messaging (written and video) about HBI, programs and partners for distribution through various communication channels, including website (HBI as well as partners/licensees), social media, traditional media, marketing collateral and publications
- Oversee the corporate communications editing and approval process to ensure a single/consistent voice and high-quality standards
- Manage the development and production of marketing collateral, advertising, promotions, events and public relations activities, including oversight of budgets for various HBI groups including Job Corps, Education Services, Industry and Academic Partnerships and others as assigned
- Oversee and help administer the collateral management system
- Manage the website maintenance program to ensure timely content updates and compliance with overall website strategy
- Create and post content on, and analyze metrics and optimize, HBI's social media channels
- Initiate ongoing corporate, program and partner recognition to increase brand awareness, familiarity, and preference
- Leverage market analysis and research to identify trends and opportunities in the industry
- Lead internal communications efforts to inform staff of marketing and communications activities
- Manage community relations initiatives with partners
- Support the Director of Marketing and Communications for Academies as needed
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Communicates with HBI staff at all levels
External: A wide variety of government and industry groups, as well as individuals or groups in
communities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: B.A. in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or another related field
and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience/Skills:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of marketing/communications experience
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
- Effectiveness at multi-tasking and managing multiple deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Solid project management skills and ability to develop new processes to increase efficiency
- Strong research and writing/editing skills (promotional/copywriting and for internal/external communications)
- Ability to create storytelling content, including video scripting and editing for website and social media
- Familiarity with posting, promoting, and analyzing data on key social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram)
- Working knowledge of earned, owned, and paid media
- Ability to create meeting/conference and trade show experiences and promotions
- Proficiency with Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet, and Adobe Acrobat (Mac a plus)
- Experience in marketing or communications agency or non-profit organization a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Usual office-type working conditions. Routine physical conditions include walking, carrying, standing, hearing/listening, and sitting. Light travel (10-15%) may be required.
