PRICING ANALYST

The Judge Group is actively recruiting an experienced Pricing Analyst for our client located in the Southfield, MI area. The selected individual will analyze and maintain product pricing to facilitate optimal pricing decisions by management as well as prepare and check regular internal reports and support the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date sales data.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Calculate pricing formulas, and file appropriate forms for quarterly and monthly customers with formula price agreements in place. In the process, recognize if true costs are being reflected in their price components and explain to management with any recommendations.

• Analyze and recommend pricing adjustments and strategies for regular customers without a formula price agreement in place.

• Analyze product profitability and propose necessary actions.

• Maintain current pricing for all domestic customers in SAP.

• Maintain monthly cost files from SAP, analyzing changes and recommending countermeasures where appropriate.

• Work with sales representatives in supporting their understanding and explanation to customers.

• Complying with government regulations, maintain standard price lists and pricing logs, analyzing costs and profit and recommend standard adjustments, consulting with internal and outside resources as needed.

• Prepare some regular reports and check other regular reports for accuracy.

• Support the maintenance of the sales database (STARS) to ensure accurate and up-to-date data.

• Develop comprehensive pricing projections for sales planning purposes.

• Analyze and evaluate existing customer price formulas and price formulas for new bid proposals against actual product cost component trends and expected cost trends going forward.

• Maintain excel files to track publicly-posted base oil and crude oil indices.

• Respond to various sales requests for all pricing and relevant pricing support information and needs. Identify, propose, and developing new tools and resources as appropriate to improve and anticipate such requests and needs.

• Support product life-cycle management reporting, and the regular analyses used to identify products that may be at or near the end of their life cycle.

• Support the International Account Manager in a back-up and checking role.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS/BA; Bachelor's degree preferred (engineering, chemistry, finance, accounting or related preferred

• 2 - 5 years in sales, product technical support, or analytics in the chemical, lubricant, or related industry.

• Previous experience working with technical sales, preferably in automotive, chemical or oil and lubricants.

• Extensive use of Microsoft Excel will be required. Additional training will be provided, but a solid aptitude is necessary.

• Microsoft Access or SQL and Power Point experience also preferred.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.
