Responsibilities

Job Summary

The HR Advisor role is responsible for investigating associate relations concerns across the enterprise. The role is focused on ensuring the consistent and equitable adherence to Federal, State, and Local laws as well as corporate values, code of conduct, and policies. Additionally, the HR Advisor provides proactive coaching to managers aimed at building and strengthening managerial capabilities. As a subject matter expert on policies and employment law, this role serves as a trusted advisor to leaders.

Primary Responsibilities

* Focus on all matters pertaining to employment law, compliance and risk mitigation.
* Proactively engage with all levels of management regarding interacting with their direct reports, communicating effectively, managing emotionally charged situations, understanding corporate policies and applying them equitably and consistently.
* Research, design, and establish clear policies and practices in partnership with employment counsel.
* Ensure consistent investigation processes/techniques are applied and utilized.
* Comply with all Federal, State, and Local reporting requirements.
* Drive and deploy programs that maintain a healthy workplace culture.
* Formally respond to sensitive concerns and allegations as required by internal processes and/or external agencies.
* Build strong and effective relationships with critical stakeholders and peers to share information, influence change, and leverage resources to deliver results. e.: Legal, Benefits, LOA, HR Operations and HR Business Partners.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Psychology, Industrial Relations or a related field, additional years of experience considered in lieu of degree
* 7+ years in progressive HR or related business experience, including 3+ years significant associate relations and performance management experience
* Knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, compensation practices, associate relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
* Effectively able to work in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment.
* Excellent consultative skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across varied stakeholder audiences including senior organizational leaders.
* Experience working with managers on complex associate relations concerns, performance management, disciplinary/termination requests, and reductions-in-force/reorganizations.

Desired Qualifications

* Retail Industry Experience/Retail Environment.
* Experience in coaching leaders and conducting training on HR related topics.
